Many of my clients often have the same questions, so here’s a list of some common questions on pricing and projects.

What kind of projects do you take on? I can write magazine articles, newsletters, blogs, website copy, e-newsletter copy, and any other copy you need written. In addition, I can edit articles or entire print or digital publications, including books and e-books. Past editing projects have included doing content and line editing for adult nonfiction books, copyediting and proofreading magazines and children’s books, and fact-checking information in magazine articles.

What editorial style guidelines do you follow when you edit? I am familiar with both AP and the Chicago Manual of Style. I also have experience using in-house style guides, so if your organization or project requires using your own style guide, just let me know and I’m happy to edit using the appropriate style for the project.

What can I expect when I work with you? You can expect that I can take a project and run with it, per your directions. My goal is to make my clients’ lives easier, so you can trust when you hand your project over to me that it is in good hands. I have a keen attention to detail and am reliable at meeting deadlines. If it’s a larger project with many parts, I’ll keep you informed about the project status periodically so you can rest assured the project is progressing on schedule.

What are your rates? My rates vary, depending on the details of a project. Additionally, some clients prefer to work with a flat fee, while others prefer to pay by the hour or by the word, so I try to accommodate each client based on the client’s individual needs. To get an estimate on your project, please contact me. Be sure to include the project scope and timeline. Also, please be aware that depending on project size, I may require a deposit of up to 25 percent of the total project estimate for first-time clients or for book content editing projects.

Are you currently accepting new projects? Yes, however, due to my current workload my availability is limited. Please contact me with your project timeline and details to inquire about starting a new project.

Can I see more samples of your work? Yes, there are a few samples on my website, but if you would like to see a specific type of sample not posted here, please let me know what type of samples you would like to see (magazine articles, blog articles, copywriting, etc.) and I’ll be happy to send you some relevant samples to review.
